Glass or stainless steel tea pot instead of tea bags and k-cups. Opt for loose leaf tea and coffee grounds or beans to grind yourself.
Glass and ceramic cups and bowls over plastic.
Stainless steel or silicone spatulas and spoons.
Cotton napkins or cloths over single use paper napkins.
Cast iron or stainless steel cookware instead of nonstick.
Avocado Oil, Tallow, Ghee, Coconut Oil, Butter and Olive Oil instead of Canola Oil or Vegetable Oil.
Reusable straws instead of single use plastic.
Biodegradable plant based sponges.
Glass storage containers instead of plastic. Tip: Save old pickle jars, mason jars, etc and repurpose them for food storage!
Glass, wood & bamboo cutting boards instead of plastic. Personally I prefer glass for most foods- fruits, veggies and meats, but I do use wood & bamboo cutting boards with dry foods like homemade sandwich bread! Wood and bamboo surfaces are porous and have a higher chance of holding bacteria and growing mold, so glass is usually my go to!
